“The Buddha did not ask, ‘What is a person?’ but ‘How does a person operate?’”

Instead of describing a person as an object, the Buddha spoke in terms of processes — analysing human existence through five aspects: the physical body, feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness.
He explained life as a causal process that, while often resulting in suffering and distress, can be understood and transformed in a way that leads to liberation.

Understanding the person as a process is essential for realizing freedom, and this retreat will focus on the teaching of not-self and the psycho-physical processes that make up our human experience.

The retreat includes meditation practice, study sessions, and group discussions.

Practical Information

The basic retreat fee at Gomde includes accommodation, all meals, and the practical essentials needed to host the course.
Thanks to the many helping hands, the cost is kept low. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you book a bed in a shared double or single room, pillows, duvet and bed linen are included in the price.

Everyone attending a retreat at Gomde / Strandgården contributes with a small daily retreat task — such as helping serve meals, doing dishes, or light cleaning at the end of the retreat.
Your task will be assigned upon registration at arrival.
